Week 10

The Bucs continue to show their dominance in the NFC South as they move to 3-0 in their division and 6-4 overall. The Bucs crushed the decimated Falcons 31-7, helping the Bucs move a little closer to that division title. Jeff Garcia has been nothing short of amazing as he didn't throw an interception for the ninth time in ten games. Garcai finished the game with 159 yards and two touchdowns. Earnest Graham had another impressive outing as he finished with 107 yards and a touchdown on only 17 carries. Joey Galloway and Alex Smith caught both of Garcias touchdowns. The Offensive line should get much of the credit for the W as they opened up plenty running room for Graham and Pittman and allowed only one sack. The Bucs D hasn't looked better this season, shutting out the Falcons until the final minutes of the game. Barrett Ruud intercepted his second pass of the year and is adding to his outstanding season that will hopefully lead to a pro bowl. Greg White caused havoc in the backfield creating two sacks and forceing two fumbles. Chris Hovan had the other interception, the first of his career. Ronde Barber scord the Bucs first Defensive touchdown of the year on a 41 yard fumble recovery in the second quarter. Cato June also played solid making a team high nine tackles and causing a fumble. But the best thing to watch on sunday was the improving play of Gaines Adams, every week he has been working and it is starting to pay off as he notched another sack and helped Hovan get his into by stripping Byron Leftwich The Bucs play the Redskins next week as they try to move to 7-4 on the season.

Week 9 (bye)

The Bucs bye couldn't of came at a better time as the injuries for the pewter pirates were starting to add up. The Bucs will have two weeks to get ready for the Atlanta Falcons. They go into the bye with a 5-4 record and are in first place in the NFC South.

Week 8

A heartbreaking loss in Tampa against the Jaguars, put the Bucs back at .500 heading into week nine. Jeff Garcia threw his first interception of the year followed by his second and third, Aaron Glenn returned his second for a touchdown. Mike Bennett had 23 yards and got his first tochdown as a Buc but only got two carries the entire game. Joey Galloway had a solid game catching six balls for 115 yards and a touchdown, Maurice Stovall saw some playing time and did pretty well catching five passes for 47 yards. But the biggest problem for the Bucs this week was on defense as they didn't cause a turnover for the second straight week. Outside of Barrett Ruud (12 tackles) and Derrick Brooks (10 tackles) nobody on the defense stepped up to make any big plays even thiough backup Qb Quinn Gray was in for injured starter David Garrard. The Bucs only gave up 232 total yards but causing any turnovers gave the Jags the win. The Arizona Cardinals come to Tampa to take on the Bucs for week nine. The Bucs need this win to stay in the playoff race in the NFC.

Week 7

With a dissapointing loss to the Detroit Lions the Bucs now drop to 4-3 and out of first place in the NFC south. The Bucs defense couldn't make and big plays all game anf the Offense didn't do much better even with outstanding performances by Earnest Graham and Jeff Garcia. Graham had 19 carries for 92 yards and 13 catches for 99 yards. Garcia completed 37 of 45 passes for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns but he also had to costly fumbles with one coming on the Detroit one yard line. But Garcia once again did not throw an interception. Jeremy Trueblood was dominated by former Buc Dewayne White as White got to Garcia three times for all of Detroits sacks. Ike Hilliard also had a solid game reeling in 9 passes for 92 yars and a touchdown. Maurice Stovall had one catch for a touchdown the first catch of the season for him and the first touchdown of his career. The Defense didn't cause any turnovers and only had three sacks in the game. Derrick Brooks had a solid game getting eight tackles. Jovan Haye is still the Bucs biggest surprise of the year as he leads the Bucs in sacks with four to goalong with his 32 tackles. The Bucs head back home to take on the Jaguars for week eight.

Week 6

All I have to say is thank you Jeff Garcia. Garcia once again came through with a clutch performance to lead the Bucs over the Titans 13-10. With only a minute and five seconds left Garcia took the Bucs downfield 55 yards to set up the game winner for Matt Bryant. Garcia finished the game 20-31 for 274 yards and one touchdown, and for the sixth straight week did not throw an interception. Galloway scored on a 69 yard touchdown pass in the third quaret and Ike Hilliard finished with 4 catchs for 59 yards. On the Defensive side of the ball Phillip Buchanon had another impressive outing intercepting vince young on the one yard line, he also had eight solo tackles. Gaines Adams had his first career sack. The fourth overal pick of this years draft looked solid and looks to be improving. Barrett Ruud again had double digit tackles and with the way he has been playing he looks to be a viable canidate for Defensive player of the year already. Ronde Barber had two interceptions overturned by replay. Even though the Bucs had the ball for fifteen less minutes the Defense came through and Jeff Garcia again proved how valuble he is to this team. The Bucs now stand at 4-2 and are tied in first place with the Panthers in the NFC south.

Week 5

The Bucs lost 33-14 to the colts on sunday, putting them back in a tie for the NFC south lead with a 3-2 record. Peyton Manning picked apart the Bucs defense connecting on 27 of 34 passes. Jeff Garcia had a solid game as he started out 9-9, and for the fifth straight game didn't throw an interception. Alex Smith had two catchs, both of them for three yards and both of them for touchdowns. Joey Galloway wasn't himself as he dropped a couple crucial passes right over the middle of the field. The O-line only allowed one sack allgame but Garcia was under pressure all game. The Defense looked sloppy and couldn't cause any big plays. Derrick Brooks, Phillip Buchanon and Barrett Ruud each hit double digit tackles. Tanard Jackson made his first career interception in the second quarter of Manning. Manning had way to much time in the pocket as the Bucs D-line couldn't get any pressure on him all game and they ended the game with a grand total of zero sacks. The Bucs head back home to Tampa to take on the Titans in week 6.

Week 4

The Bucs won 20-7 over the Panthers on Sunday but was this victory to costly? Carnell Williams and Luke Petigout were both lost for the season with knee injuries. But Nonetheless the Bucs moved to 3-1 and grabbed ownership of first place in the NFC South. Ike Hilliard stepped up on Offense and had seven catches for 114 yards and Jeff Garcia once again proved he is the leader of this team. Earnest Grahm and Mike Pittman both stepped up for the injured Cadillac. The Defense once again was brilliant not allowing a score until their was under one minute left in the fourth quarter. With that impressive showing the Bucs are one the number one Defense in the league, something their fans are more used too. Barrett Ruud had another dominant outing and still leads the league in tackles and fumbles forced. Jermaine Phillips also played great intercepting David Carr for his second pick of the season. Up next on the Bucs schedule are the 4-0 Colts. This will be by far the toughest opponent the Bucs have faced this year. Luckily Joseph Addai and Marvin Harrison both might sit out due to injuries. If the Bucs beat the Colts and move to 4-1 you can be sure they will move up on all power rankings.
